Boyd Jones was selected as the General Contractor for the renovation of Sacred Heart Church, a parish founded in 1890 by Irish immigrants. The 119-year-old building is on the National Register of Historic Places. The renovation included refinishing all the interior woodwork, refurbishing church pews and restoring all existing murals and statuary, including the beautiful artisan painting on the domed ceiling of the sanctuary. A new tile floor was installed and the plaster on existing walls was repaired and repainted. The church’s stained glass windows were rebuilt and re-installed and custom lighting was added, modeled after fixtures of the early 1900’s. The church’s outdated building systems were replaced with new electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems. Exterior renovations included repairing the church bell tower and restoring the church’s stone exterior to reveal the beauty of the original stone.
