Built to replace Fontenelle’s flagship facility, the new Nature Center accommodates the Forest Association’s role in the community as an educator of environmental stewardship. The Nature Center project was planned and designed to demonstrate responsible stewardship of the environment and use of natural resources. This stewardship extended to the careful selection of materials and methods more compatible to sustaining the environment. The facility features passive solar heating, a geothermal heating and cooling system, and energy efficient lighting, windows and roofing materials.
Boyd Jones was selected to join the project team during the design schematic phase. As a consultant during the development process, our team advised on the feasibility of construction, time requirements for installation and construction, and preliminary budgeting and value enhancing solutions.
