The Burt County Solar-Plus-Storage project is a public-private partnership between Burt County Public Power District (BCPPD) and Bluestem Energy Solutions. This 2 MW solar plus 6 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) is the first utility-scale solar-plus-storage project in Nebraska. The project supports residents across five counties and is designed to maximize sun exposure and energy storage through 5,000 solar PV modules and two Tesla Megapacks. This combination allows BCPPD to store energy for anticipated peak usage days and distribute it onto the local distribution grid when it is most needed – keeping power clean, local, and cost-controlled.
