Baxter Auto Group selected Boyd Jones to build a series of three new dealerships and a detail shop totaling more than 178,000 SF for its Audi, VW, and Subaru brands on a 26-acre master-planned site. Site staging and phasing were meticulously designed to ensure the most efficient allocation of resources and a staggered approach allowed Boyd Jones to effectively manage four simultaneous new construction projects on a single site. Design work was completed first for the detail facility, which enabled our crews to begin concrete work for that project as design was being finished for Audi, then VW, then Subaru. Once foundations were complete for the detail shop, our expert foundation crews rotated to the Audi site while construction began on the detail building, and the remaining projects followed in succession. Another benefit of this situation was that it made for a more competitive bid process. For example, electrical work for individual facilities was able to be broken down into smaller jobs and made for a more efficient flow of labor as the projects progressed.
