Boyd Jones made a donation to support the 6th grade language arts program at Goodrich Middle School. Angela Miller, 6th grade teacher at Goodrich Middle School, put in a request on the Lincoln Public School’s website on the “fund a need” page. The money donated by Boyd Jones will go towards subscriptions to “Time for Kids” Magazine.

The magazines will be used to teach students about the structure of writing in non-fiction text. The magazines will also be used during peer conferencing to show students writing techniques for non-fiction works, allow students to learn from published text, and improve overall reading and writing skills. With the money donated, the school will receive 28 copies of the magazine, as well as a teachers’ guide.

Boyd Jones is currently working to remodel Goodrich Middle School, which will provide additional classroom space, gym and cafeteria space. The indoor air quality and life safety codes will also be updated, which will include the installation of a geothermal heat pump system for the school.
