Stephen Center serves homeless and low-income individuals in Omaha. The new four-story, 60,000 SF center houses emergency shelter and permanent supportive housing.
The lower level serves as the emergency shelter; including check-in, in-take, offices, laundry, lockers, a large dining room, and kitchen. Men and women are housed at either end, each with a bunk room, bathroom and showers, day room, and laundry. Additionally, there are four family shelters with private baths and an adjacent children’s area.
The main level of the facility houses the wellness center, two large and four small meeting rooms and administrative offices, and has direct access to the exterior courtyard. The second and third floors are identical and encompass the permanent supportive housing with a variety of room layouts surrounding a shared lounge and bath and shower rooms. In total, this new facility includes 62 affordable permanent supportive housing units.
