This 11,900 SF career and technical education center serves as a training facility for both high school and community college students. By combining coursework at the technical center with apprenticeship, Geneseo Community Unit School District #228 can offer Career Pathway Endorsements through the Illinois State Board of Education while maintaining their current certification programs.
The new CTE center houses fully equipped wood, welding, and auto repair shops, as well as a large classroom outfitted with new technology to enhance hands-on learning opportunities within each of the three separate shops. This new facility will play an important role in the continued economic growth of the community and surrounding areas by preparing students for current workforce needs and offering them the opportunity to be work-eligible immediately upon graduating.
