Stakeholders within the Wausa school district united in late 2018 to pass a pivotal bond measure that will improve the community’s ability to retain its most critical asset: recent graduates. With Boyd Jones as construction manager, the district has undertaken critical renovations and new construction at its facilities that has resulted in a path to improved retention of graduates and economic benefits to the Wausa economy. Subcontracting for the project was able to stay local thanks to the efforts of Project Manager, Brian Dembowski.
The addition is home to a new commons area for students and community events, new administrative offices, new classrooms, and a new media center and library. Renovations, meanwhile, resulted in updated classroom spaces in place of the former shop area, which the district replaced with a separate facility in a separate project that will provide students with the technical skills needed to match up with career opportunities in the community.
