After Boyd Jones completed a major renovation and addition project at Fort Calhoun’s junior/senior high school, the district engaged Boyd Jones to return for two separate addition projects at its elementary school. Working on multiple phases on a tight timeline in even tighter quarters, the first project—completed in November 2017—resulted in 6,800 SF of additions and 3,500 SF of renovations. Featured outcomes of this project include two new classrooms, a renovated entry, new kitchen, and an elevator system. The district in 2019 selected Boyd Jones to return for an additional project that comprises a 4,700 SF, four-classroom addition for 2nd and 3rd grade levels and renovations to an existing classroom to become new restrooms.
Boyd Jones’ relationship with Fort Calhoun Community Schools dates to 2013, when a strategic partnership and successful bond issue resulted in an extensive 50,000 SF addition and the complete renovation of the district’s existing 43,000 SF junior/senior high.
