Southern Public Power District Service Center

Boyd Jones was selected to build a 26,000 SF service center for Southern Public Power District. As an electric service provider serving more than 27,000 meters across a 4,000-square-mile territory in south-central Nebraska, SPPD needed a service facility that would enhance operational efficiency and allow it to best serve customers.

Located in Funk, Nebraska, this project features a pre-engineered metal building system, designed for durability and long-term performance. The facility includes a dedicated office and administrative area, complete with a reception space, meeting rooms, and workstations to support daily operations.

A highlight of this space is a 16,000 SF covered truck barn, equipped with a wash bay, which provides protected space for fleet vehicles, extending their service life and reducing maintenance demands.

A storage warehouse houses essential maintenance and repair supplies, ensuring quick access to critical electrical components. Additionally, a spacious outdoor storage yard accommodates power poles, transformers, and other large-scale equipment, optimizing site logistics for efficient deployment.
