Cuming County Wind

Acting as EPC, Boyd Jones installed both of the tallest wind turbines in the state of Nebraska—one of which is located in Cuming County. Completed in partnership with Bluestem Energy Solutions, this 2.5 MW GE turbine, with an 89-meter hub height and a 127-meter rotor diameter, helps power the community with renewable energy. 

Bluestem Energy Solutions is a developer, owner, and operator of renewable energy resources headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska. The company identifies, develops, and implements local energy solutions for utilities across the Midwest, helping communities transition to cleaner, more resilient power generation. Our work together on this project emphasizes the power of innovation and continued collaboration to power communities. 

The local public power utility purchases electricity from the project, providing cost savings, a more diverse wholesale power mix, and generating direct value for community members through tax payments and landowner lease payments.
