Pottawattamie County Public Health Building

The Pottawattamie County Public Health Building is a modern facility that enhances community access to critical health services while improving operational efficiency for public health agencies. Boyd Jones constructed this new 15,300 SF space, which was one of Iowa’s first public Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) projects and marked a significant transformation in how public projects are designed and delivered across the state.

Located in Council Bluffs, the building houses key regional programs and agencies, including the Pottawattamie County Medical Examiner’s Office; Women, Infants, and Children (WIC); and Regional Health and Human Services.

Thoughtfully designed workspaces and expanded service areas enable faster, more efficient public access to essential resources.

The facility also features administrative and training spaces, a large community health training room, and dedicated areas for population health programs, health education, sexual health services, environmental health, animal control, and local Centers for Disease Control (CDC) personnel.
