Liberty First Credit Union Arena (formerly Ralston Arena) is a hallmark in Nebraska’s Omaha metro community. While the 175,000 SF, 4,000-seat arena began as a single-tenant facility for the Omaha Lancers junior ice hockey team, the project scope transformed throughout construction. Today, Liberty First hosts sports games, concerts, comedy shows, boxing matches, trade expos, and many more special events.
The arena, with its two sheets of ice, 11 concessions stations serving 230,000 guests throughout the year, and efficiently adaptable spaces, is designed to accommodate a wide range of events. Two teams—the Omaha Lancers and the Omaha Beef National Arena League (NAL)—call Liberty First home. Athletes and performers enjoy 3,000 SF of locker room space and an adaptable court that can host basketball, volleyball, and more.
Boyd Jones utilized its strong AV trade partnerships to deliver cutting-edge lighting, electrical, digital display, sound, and rigging solutions, empowering the Arena with all the necessary functionality for the diverse events held there. Working within the City of Ralston’s Not-to-Exceed budget in line with bonding, the team strategically optimized costs through the scope adjustments and additional tenant integration—ensuring a high-performing facility while completing construction on schedule in just 15 months.
