Boyd Jones’ partnership with Lyons-Decatur Northeast Schools spanned pre-bond planning, preconstruction, and construction services for additions and renovations to PreK-12 facilities, aligning the district’s goals, community priorities, and long-term needs into a cohesive PreK-12 improvement plan.
Taking a collaborative approach, we worked alongside the district and architect to determine the appropriate scope and budget. We supported the district and community in creating data- and analytics-informed campaign plans and strategies to share the value of a bond to support this transformative project. With an informational campaign and a motivated, hardworking committee of parents in the district, the bond issue successfully passed at 58%.
We completed a 59,000 SF addition that expanded facilities with a new gym, weight and locker rooms, elementary classrooms, and a commons with a cafeteria and commercial kitchen. Renovations spanning 39,000 SF upgraded life-safety features, including fire sprinklers and alarms.
