As EPC, Boyd Jones installed both of the tallest wind turbines in the state of Nebraska—one of which is Prairie Breeze Wind in Polk County near Osceola.
Standing at an 89-meter hub height with a 127-meter rotor diameter, the 2.5 MW GE turbine is a powerful addition to Nebraska’s energy landscape. This project delivers the local public power utility with long-term cost savings, a diverse and reliable power mix, and greater price certainty. It also strengthens the community by contributing to local tax revenues and driving economic growth.
The project was developed in partnership with Bluestem Energy Solutions, a developer, owner, and operator of renewable energy resources headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska. Bluestem Energy Solutions works to identify, develop, and implement local energy solutions for utilities, advancing cleaner and more resilient energy infrastructure across the Midwest and Southeast. Our work together on this project emphasizes the power of innovation and continued collaboration to power communities.
