The Springfield Wind Farm in Keya Paha County in northeast Nebraska is powered by two 1.5 MW Vensys 77 direct-drive turbines. Serving as EPC, Boyd Jones worked closely with the client and partner Bluestem Energy Solutions to deliver the two turbines and empower the community with green energy.
Bluestem Energy Solutions is a developer, owner, and operator of renewable energy resources headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska. The company identifies, develops, and implements local energy solutions for utilities across the Midwest, helping communities transition to cleaner, more resilient power generation. Our work together on this project emphasizes the power of innovation and continued collaboration to power communities.
In addition to replacing the state’s first utility-scale wind turbines, this project also represents the first Nebraska-built towers installed on a wind facility within the state. With each turbine standing on a 213-foot hub with a 252-foot rotor diameter, this project marked a significant step forward in Nebraska’s renewable energy history.
