Sacred Heart Catholic Church

Boyd Jones partnered on the renovation of the historic Sacred Heart Church, a parish established by Irish immigrants in 1890. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the 119-year-old church required careful planning and skilled craftsmanship to restore its original character while upgrading essential systems.

Through meticulous attention to detail, our team refinished all interior woodwork, refurbished pews, and restored intricate murals and statuary, including the artisan-painted domed ceiling at the sanctuary’s center. A new tile floor, repairs and repainting of original plaster walls, and rebuilding of the church’s stained-glass windows before reinstalling them with care helped preserve the character of the space while supporting the community’s needs.

New custom lighting—designed to reflect early 1900s fixtures—was added to enhance the space while preserving the space’s historic charm. We also replaced all outdated building systems, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC, ensuring modern functionality while upholding architectural integrity. On the exterior, we repaired the bell tower and restored the stone façade, revealing the beauty and strength of the original masonry in the historic church renovation.
